Handprints for Heroes is a project to celebrate healthcare heroes making an imprint on our community one hand at a time.
We want all community members to trace their hands, write a message to our healthcare heroes on it, and decorate it. Our goal is to deliver as many hands as possible in all shapes and sizes to give "high fives," "handshakes," and "hugs" to those who are fighting so hard to keep us healthy.
We are partnering with Little Library owners around the community to collect your unique hand artwork and messages. You can simply drop off your prints at one of our participating Little Libraries. We will collect throughout the weeks and give them to healthcare workers at our local hospitals. We are currently collecting handprints in the Oak Park and River Forest communities.
My name is Serena Cazeau and I am a junior at Oak Park and River Forest High School. I started this project because I wanted to figure out a way to give back to the health care workers who continue to give so much to us. I am hoping that if our community contributes to this project, we can spread happiness and hope into our local hospitals. This is a way of keeping close connection in a time where we are distant. Thank you!
